Port Authority Band
Slim Cessna's Auto Club — Bloudy Tenent, Truth & Peace
Port Authority Band by Slim Cessna’s Auto Club
This song was not a favorite at the beginning of the week, but it eventually ingrained itself in my head and the pure catchy-ness was effectual in that. The guitar riffs give a drastically different feel to the song than any of the other songs and the banjo flourishes can’t help but make you happy. The chorus speaking about the incoming and outgoing (often by force) of immigrants from Ellis Island, makes the song betray the lyrics by sounding so happy. It doesn’t hurt that they use an old brass band sample to punctuate certain parts of the song. It is just a well produced song overall.
